Hidden Oaks is a
vibrant and dynamic middle school where students benefit from numerous program
features that are offered, in part, because of a unique partner school concept
with Twin Oaks located across the street. Because of the close proximity, staff
at each site create class opportunities and electives that could only be
offered by the two schools working together. In addition to a rich,
growth-oriented regular education curriculum, Hidden Oaks offers Advanced
Placement courses in Math, Science, English and Social Studies. The academic program at our school consists
of small learning environments centered around the “house” concept in which
each grade has a majority of its classes located in one area. Students have a
choice from a wide range of elective classes, which supported by state-of-the-art
technology with a two-to-one computer-to-student ratio, SMART boards in every
room, Document Cameras, and iPad s connected to Apple TV. Hidden Oaks also has
a new competition swimming pool that opened in 2007. Teaching teams meet
regularly to share and discuss student needs, teaching strategies and common
goals to fulfill the school’s mission of To
Promote and Model a Love of Learning.
