School Store

The holiday season is quickly approaching. Are you thinking of picking up some Laker gear for the Lakers in your family? The Hidden Oaks Student Council is running a school store this year. We have lots of school supplies…pencils, pens, rulers, colored pencils, notebooks, folders, erasers, lead. Most items at the school store cost between $0.25 and $1.50.
Two of our newest items are drawstring Laker bags and Laker water bottles; these would both make great holiday gifts! The drawstring bags cost $7.00 and the water bottles cost $3.00. If you would like more information or would like to purchase some Laker gear, please contact Mrs. Koepp kkoepp@priorlake-savage.k12.mn.us, Ms. Toeller atoeller@priorlake-savage.k12.mn.us, or Mrs. Suttner nsuttner@priorlake-savage.k12.mn.us.

Library Cards from our public libraries

Hello Families of Hidden Oaks Middle School!

I want to inform you that your child may come home with a form from the media center for the Scott County Public Library System.  I encourage you to bring your child to the Prior Lake or Savage Library to get their own card for a BIG reason!  We are partnering with the Scott County Library so that your child will be able to use all of the fantastic features on their website.  If your child is doing research, they are able to get on the databases with their library card.  This is important because we do many research projects at school and if they bring their library card they will have an easier time getting on the website and finding reliable and valuable information.  The other amazing feature that your child will be able to use is an online tutoring system called HOMEWORK RESCUE.  They are online to help your child from 1pm to 11pm with any questions they have on their homework-any subject!  The tutors are certified teachers from California on the other end.  Please consider taking the time to check out this great resource, it is simple to use and it will save you time if your child can talk to a tutor online and help them through the problems.  They will never give your child the answer but help them through the problem!  There is also a writing lab on the Homework Rescue site where your child can write a paper, and the online tutor for the writing lab will go through and grade the paper and give recommendations for correcting within 24 hours.  Hop on board with me in order to use this exciting tool.  Any questions please call or email Gina Zurn, Media Specialist at Hidden Oaks and Twin Oaks Middle School or simply stop in to Prior Lake or Savage Public Library.  Thank you for your consideration!
