Nordic Ski Racing Team
PLHS Nordic
Ski Racing Team is Recruiting New Members!
Nordic (cross country) skiing
offers two different techniques– classic (like running) and freestyle (like
hockey skating or rollerblading). No
experience is necessary. We instruct
both methods. We have both Varsity and Junior Varsity levels. Everybody skis at
most races. We also offer an optional
team trip to Wisconsin over the Winter Break.
We have the best high school rental program in the state of Minnesota. For $100 (for one season), first year athletes
get two pairs of skis, two sets of poles and a pair of boots. The first day of official practice is Monday,
Nov. 12. Any interested PLHS, Hidden
Oaks, or Twin Oaks athletes (7th – 12th grade only)
should email Coach Panzer at kpanzer@priorlake-savage.k12.mn.us !

8th Grade trip to Wash., DC
Over MEA break, a
group of 194 eighth-grade students, from both Hidden Oaks and Twin Oaks Middle
Schools, visited our Nation’s capital. The students experienced history
first-hand! Students visited many historical places, including Arlington
National Cemetery, Jamestown, Williamsburg, Mount Vernon, various Smithsonian
Museums, many of the monuments on the National Mall, and the Holocaust Museum.
Students came away from the trip with a better understanding of American
history as well as a great introduction to our Nation’s capital.
Already looking
forward to next year’s trip, the advisors have provided the current seventh
graders with the opportunity to attend an informational meeting on November 15th
during the school day. There will also be a parent information meeting on
November 15th at 6:00 p.m. at Twin Oaks Middle School. Please visit
the trip website for more information: visit your school’s webpage, select
“Activities,” select “Washington D.C. Trip,” select “8th Grade
Washington D.C. Trip” from the left-hand menu.
SPAN (Synergy/SAGE Parent Action Newtwork)
SPAN will have its next meeting on Tuesday
November 27 at 7pm in the WestWood Media Center. The event will be an
MCGT-sponsored CHAT night titled, “The Social and Emotional Development of

Tennis players going to State
Congratulations to Savanna Crowell (8th grade), and Taylor Jackson (7th grade) - two integral players on the Prior Lake Varsity girls' tennis team.
The team went undefeated in the conference and section and is headed to the State AA Tournament today. It's especially important since this is the first time in 21 years.
Savanna will also be heading to state in the individual portion of the tournament which starts on Thursday. This is a huge accomplishment and the Prior Lake team is highly regarded in the state, getting the #3 seed in the tournament.
Congratulations to both girls and to the PL tennis team. Good Luck on Tuesday and Thursday and we wish you good matches.
