8th Grade Boys Interested in playing football

The registration for the May 4th Spring Player/Parent Meeting is now live on the home page of priorlakefootball.com.

All players that are planning on playing football this fall must attend with 1 or both parents. There will be info on summer camp, summer performance, summer speed and expectations of the program. Players will also sign up for numbers at the meeting.

We will also have Laker football gear and memberships available.

The TO-BE 9th graders meeting is at 6:00

Both are in the PLHS Auditorium.

Lakefront Music Fest - July 18-19

Lakefront Music Fest is July 18-19, Concert to Benefit PLSAS Booster Clubs

Prior Lake Rotary invites you to the fifth annual 2014 Lakefront Music Fest at Lakefront Park in Prior Lake.

The Under the Sun Tour will headline rock night July 18 with Blues Traveler, Sugar Ray, Uncle Kracker and Smash Mouth. Trace Adkins will headline country music night on July 19. Maggie Rose will also take the country music stage Saturday.

Buy tickets now and save! Online, pre-sale tickets are $20 for both days (day of: $20 per date). Ages 15 and under are free. Fifty percent of admission ticket sales ($10 per ticket) sold directly through the Laker Athletic Booster Club (LABC) and Patrons of the Arts & Activities (PAA) either online or directly from students, will benefit our athletic and non-athletic programs.



In addition to ticket sale proceeds, LABC and PAA will receive $20 for every volunteer hour provided. SCSU Math Contest

Congratulations to the 49 Hidden Oaks and Twin Oaks Middle School students who competed in the forty-seventh annual St. Cloud State University Mathematics Contest April 3. 

More than 2,000 students representing 51 schools from across Minnesota competed for awards that were given to the top 10% of students in each grade level (gr. 7-12)


Earning recognition certificates for being in the top 5% of competitors were 7th graders Gabby Sumner (Hidden Oaks), Carter Mong (Twin Oaks) and Sam Zellmer (Twin Oaks), as well as 8th grader Max Christopherson (Hidden Oaks). More than 500 7th graders participated in the contest.

Following the math contest students participated in a variety of activities around campus including a show at the planetarium about space exploration, chess and Sudoku competitions and a demonstration about CAD drawings and 3D printing. 

Middle School Synergy Program Coordinator Becky Smith helped students prepare for the contest and accompanied them in St. Cloud.

Math Contest - St. Cloud State University

Great job to the 49 students who competed in the forty-seventh Annual St. Cloud State University Mathematics Contest yesterday!  Earning recognition certificates for being in the top 5% of competitors were 7th graders Gabby Sumner, Carter Mong, and Sam Zellmer, as well as 8th grader Max Christopherson. 


Following the math contest the students participated in a variety of activities around campus including a show at the Planetarium about “Exploration of Space”, a hands-on demonstration of SCSU’s new multi-user Visualization and Stimulation Lab (this was really cool – ask the students about it!), chess and Sudoku competitions, and a demonstration about CAD drawings and 3D printing.

Math Contest



SPAN Meeting Postponed

Due to the predicted poor weather/driving conditions, we are postponing tonight's SPAN meeting to Thursday April, 17 at 7pm in the WestWood Media Center.

The meeting will feature Anne Rinkenberger, MS, LMFT, a Twin Cities therapist who focuses her practice on working with gifted children and adolescents, who will speak about Supporting the Special Needs of Gifted Children: Neuroscience Implications for Regulating Emotions and Behavior.  This presentation will describe characteristics of giftedness, including Overexciteabilities (often referred to as sensitivities and intensities) and other special needs of some gifted kids that impact their social, emotional, behavioral and psychological health. The brain science regarding the development of executive functioning skills and the impact on learning for gifted kids and teens will be discussed. Participants will learn strategies to use at home and in the classroom to improve the ability of gifted children to regulate their emotions and behavior. And, participants will learn about some of the indicators when a gifted child may benefit from additional professional services.

Teacher relicensure CEU certificates will be available.
