Great job to the 49 students who competed in the
forty-seventh Annual St. Cloud State University Mathematics Contest
yesterday! Earning recognition certificates for being in the top 5% of
competitors were 7th graders Gabby Sumner, Carter Mong, and Sam
Zellmer, as well as 8th grader Max Christopherson.
Following the math contest the students participated in a
variety of activities around campus including a show at the Planetarium about
“Exploration of Space”, a hands-on demonstration of SCSU’s new multi-user
Visualization and Stimulation Lab (this was really cool – ask the students
about it!), chess and Sudoku competitions, and a demonstration about CAD
drawings and 3D printing.
