Parent Satisfaction Survey

Thank you for taking the time to complete our recent parent survey. Based upon comments made, we are making several changes for next year to make Back to School Night an even better experience for all.

For example:
Many respondents commented that they felt that getting their Picture Form in a separate mailing was is not the best use of resources. While it was sent by Lifetouch using their resources, I contacted our representative to ask if an alternative method of communication could be considered by the company.  We await their decision.
Our supply list will be broken down by subjects to assist in getting organized.
We are hoping to make student schedules available online at least 24 hours in advance.
We are investigating ways to print the student schedule larger.
A map of the building will be available both online in advance and at the schedule pick-up table.
To help lessen hallway congestion, teachers will be in their classrooms to meet and greet families.
Our band teacher will schedule a general Q. and A. session for parents before Back to School Night starts and midway through the evening so that all frequently asked questions can be answered at one time, lessening the wait time to greet him personally.

Since the vast majority of parents surveyed a few years back were not happy when we ran a mock schedule, we will continue to offer less structure on Back to School Night.

In addition, we have to continue to accommodate all three grades on one night and on the same date as TOMS since we only have four hours available for teachers to work and many students cross the street between the two buildings.
98% of those responding indicated that they would prefer getting “back to school information” via e-mail. Therefore, next summer we will send information electronically followed by an automated phone call alert to all families.
